NZ Leaders in Accessible Respite Accommodation

tlc4u2 Resorts

Our mission is to provide comfortable, uncrowded and, above all, accessible accommodation suitable for holidays, short stays or as temporary accommodation.

Jonathan Harris, founder of tlc4u2 In Home Care Providers, originally created tlc4u2 Resorts to offer accessible holiday accommodation that he himself would enjoy staying in. It was important to Jonathan that tlc4u2 Resorts were situated in peaceful and accessible locations; provided private, well decorated, spacious fully-serviced rooms along with informal, relaxed social areas; and were suitably staffed with qualified and personable support workers to provide respite care to their valued guests.

Jonathan Harris

Managing Director

Prior to 2010 Jonathan had worked in the UK as a live-in caregiver and in New Zealand in residential care facilities.

Upon returning to New Zealand in 2010 Jonathan quickly realised that providing client-centric home-based care would be a superior option for upper North Islanders seeking an alternative to residential care and existing home care services.

It has long been a passion of Jonathan’s to do everything possible for clients to have the option to remain at home while living their best life. This passion has ultimately been fulfilled with the creation of tlc4u2. Over the past 12 years tlc4u2 has been responsible for providing a service that has allowed thousands of clients to enjoy a high quality of life while remaining at home, until such a time that they no longer require care.

Industry leaders

As in home care industry leaders in New Zealand, tlc4u2 are experts at meeting the specific and individualised needs of those who experience disabilities, and/or have suffered serious injuries, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. tlc4u2 Resorts offer a safe place to land for those who find themselves undergoing periods of transition, such as while their whare/home is being modified for wheelchair accessibility.

tlc4u2 Resorts are designed, built and operated with the care your loved ones deserve. We fully tailor each individual’s stay to ensure that our guests are looked after, feel relaxed and can enjoy themselves in tlc4u2 Resorts Te Whare Āio.

Our Staff

Mahia i runga i te rangimārie me te ngākau māhaki.

With a peaceful mind and a respectful heart, we will always get best results.

Our friendly kaitiaki/support workers are not only competent in meeting your personal care needs, they also know how to have fun and are here to help make your stay a happy one.

Our Vision

A tlc4u2 Resort is a Te Whare Āio – House of Peace.

We are here to make difference to those who need it most, when they need it most. We believe short-term accessible accommodation should be readily available nationwide. We plan to build tlc4u2 Resorts across the North and South Islands with a view to establish locations in Wellington, Christchurch and New Plymouth. This will enable us to offer safe, comfortable and accessible accommodation that includes respite care services to those who need it, wherever and whenever they need it.

About tlc4u2 In Home Care Providers

tlc4u2 was established more than 12 years ago, by Jonathan Harris, with the vision of transforming the landscape of home care services throughout our hapori whānui/communities.

As a live-in caregiver himself, who had worked in both NZ and the UK, Jonathan recognised the need to provide client-centric home-based care throughout New Zealand.

As a result, tlc4u2 has become an industry leader in the way they provide care, taking on clients that other service providers aren’t prepared to. tlc4u2 are specialists in caring for those suffering spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries, and are also experienced, well-equipped and highly-skilled at providing respite care, restorative care, rehabilitative care, and ACC funded care.

As CEO, Jonathan takes an active role in day-to-day operations, ensuring that both care -givers and -receivers are well matched, and that both have the support they really need to thrive. tlc4u2 currently employs more than 200 hand-picked nursing and home care professionals, each of whom receive individualised client-specific training in order to both provide truly tender loving care, and to help their kiritaki/clients live their best lives.

Since 2010, tlc4u2 has been responsible for providing a service that has allowed thousands of kiritaki/clients across the country to enjoy a high quality of life while remaining at home.

tlc4u2 is a proud sponsor of Parafed Northland and Northland Wheelchair Basketball Team, and frequently takes kiritaki/clients on accessible fishing trips with Wish4Fish.If you require specialised care services during your stay at tlc4u2 Resorts, please reach out to the team at tlc4u2
